Shri Sanjeev Rastogi, presently working as General Manager (Capex) – Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), has been recommended for the post of Director Production – Braithwaite & Co. Limited. by the Public Enterprise Selection Board.

Braithwaite & Co. Limited was established in 1913 as a subsidiary of Braithwaite & Co. Engineers Limited (U.K.), initially focused on structural steel fabrication. The Clive Works in Calcutta began manufacturing wagons for Indian Railways in 1934. Incorporated in Bengal on February 28, 1930, as Braithwaite & Co (India) Ltd, the company expanded with Angus Works in 1960 for cranes, foundry products, and machinery components, and added the Project Division in 1978 for turnkey material handling projects. The Victoria Works, acquired in 1987, manufactures pressure vessels, railway wagons, and heavy structural components.

On December 1, 1976, Braithwaite & Co. Limited became a fully-owned Government of India undertaking. Since August 6, 2010, the company has been administered by the Ministry of Railways and on January 11, 2022, the Ministry of Railways awarded Braithwaite & Co. Limited “Miniratna-I” status.
