Shri Nandakumar Velayudhan Pillai, currently the Group General Manager (Corporate Strategy) at Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), has been recommended for the position of Director (Refineries) at MRPL by the Public Enterprise Selection Board.
MRPL, with registered and corporate office located in Mangalore, Karnataka, was initially a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Indian Rayon and Industries Ltd. (IRIL) to set up a refinery and petrochemicals project in Mangalore. Later, ONGC acquired IRIL’s shareholding, making MRPL a subsidiary of ONGC. As of March 31, 2023, the combined shareholding of the promoters (ONGC & HPCL) was 1,552,507,615. The company employed 2,550 regular employees (1,107 executives and 1,443 non-executives) as of March 31, 2023.
