Smt Susmita Phukan Khaund born and brought up in Namrup, did her schooling from H.F.C. Model School, Namrup. Passed B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Handique Girls College, Guwahati. Completed Masters in Economics from Gauhati University in the year 1989. Obtained LL.B degree from Gauhati University (Government Law College) in the year 1989. Enrolled as an Advocate on 12.03.1991. Joined as a Judicial Officer, Grade-III of Assam Judicial Service on 27.07.1995. Appointed to Grade-II of Assam Judicial Service on 29.11.2006 and Grade-I on 29.08.2012.
Elevated as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court on 16th of August, 2022.
